So... I really wanted to do Sweeney Todd but Nathan had to work late, and what's Mrs Lovett without her Sweeney? Yeah, and my dress wasn't working out the way I wanted, so now I still have some time to work on that...

I'll do it Friday night...

So, tonight was the ward Trunk or Treat. Uh-huh. Oh yeah. I won Best Dressed Trunk!!! :P And I totally rocked the Sarah Palin, accent and all! :D

Big D was Shark Boy... look at that totally awesome costume his momma made!!

SamBam was rockin it as Michael Phelps... little Speedo that said 'Phelps' on the back!

Ike Ike was Monkey Toes again... in the costume he wore when he was Sammy's age... *sigh*

My favorite part of the trunk was my little GOP Elephant on the Lite Brite! I ROCK!!! (Of course, I had my Clinton Campaign grave out there, and the hubby's BB Gun in the back, and a whole bunch of little stuffed animals... etc...
There were also streamers in red white and blue, and my Uncle Sam windsock, which is really big, but you can't see it here...

So... I've been planning on going to the church's Trunk or Treat this week dressed as Miss Lovett from Sweeney Todd, with Nathan going as Sweeney himself. The boys are going to be their own things... unless I can incorporate Sammy somehow... mini-Sweeney or something... ANyways... I've been thinking about it and I just don't know if having a trunk full of pies with fingers poking out is in bad taste, or if people will get all weird about the fact that it was an R-rated movie... even though it was a Sondheim musical starring Angela Lansbury in 1979... I ust don't want people to think it's in bad taste... when I think it's awesome... or should we be unoriginal and do a Harry Potter thing? SamBam knew the noise it was supposed to make and couldn't quite figure it out, so when he blew, he made a squeaky little noise instead. So cute! Dang, you had to be there...

So here it is!!!

This is what we did for the yard this year. It doesn't look like much but it's really been quite a bit of work. Every year they have a yard decorating contest. Last year I got the major shaft!!! They didn't even give me an honorable mention and I had twice as much as the winners had. I was so bummed, but this year we went all out with our design. Basically we call it Attack of the Pygmy Pumpkins... I have more competition this year, yards full of graves and such, but ours is definitely original and creative!!!

Vacation

Okay, so it's about time I posted about our trip to the beach!!! I'm gonna spare you the details and just mostly post pics... so HERE COMES THE PICSPAM!!!!

So, we left last Saturday. I drove to Pensacola to pick up Mom at the airport and Nathan drove the Big Dude and Ike Ike down to Fort Walton Beach, which is where Eglin AF Base is. So they stopped and played at the AF Museum for a little bit while they waited for us.




We went down to the beach as soon as we got the car unloaded, just to check it out. Unfortunately for us, there was a row of high-rise view-killers between us and the beach, but it was still close enough to walk to... The weather was perfect!!!!! Sadly, Nathan had to go back on Monday for work.





Our first morning there, we got up early with the boys... well, okay, they got us up early!... we decided to take a walk on the beach. We found a tiny little puffer fish (see the pic with it blown up on my sun glasses) and the Big Dude found some crab bits and pieces. Don't I look HAWT in Nathan's shorts!?!






These are just a few random pics. Inside the living room of the condo we stayed in... on our way to breakfast at t place that ended up being a HECK of a lot more expensive than we expected... $2.99 for a child's chocolate milk (NO REFILLS!) I'm such a cheapskate! And the first place I went mini-golfing with the boys.





Last Thursday was our OVERKILL day. We spent ALL day at the beach that day... practically sunup to sundown!!















That night Big Dude and I went "crabbing". The crabs come out at night and you can see them scurrying around down by the water. I was so happy we caught one for David to see... though he sure was a tiny guy! It was like catching a spider!



We went golfing again!! Granni stayed home while Sammy napped and I took the older two.




On our way out to Pensacola, to take Granni back to the airport, we made a few stops for fun. We found this place called Navarre Beach about 20 miles west of Fort Walton Beach. It was GORGEOUS!!! If you are ever down that way, make the drive!! Trust me!!! It was untouched and beautiful and the perfect place for shelling!!






We stopped at a playground too and the boys fed the ducks and turtles... we had a great time, and we are finally peeling from our sunburns!!


So, we had a good time, and mom was able to enjoy the beach for a while. I thought she did really well, and was able to keep up with us, and when she wasn't... she rested!
